My Story
Hey, my name is Christian Luzuriaga and I’m the founder of CXL Headlight Restoration! I decided to take my passion for cars to establish a NJ based mobile headlight restoration and auto detail business in 2018. It is my mission to stay true to our slogan to make you “Love your car again!” Here’s a little about my background and what inspired me to start CXL Headlight Restoration!
When I got my first vehicle I was so excited! It was a used 1993 Toyota XLE. The car was in great shape and fully loaded. The only issue was the headlights were oxidized, yellow, hazy cloudy, and foggy.
I strongly considered just buying new headlights but saw how expensive they were to replace. I could barely see at night and didn’t know what to do! I grew up in an apartment in Brooklyn, NYC so I wasn’t too handy. It just didn’t seem to easy to fix headlights.
I can still tell you to this day that not all headlights are created equal. And although I’ve become very handy and well-versed in headlight restoration, it can still be a challenge to restore a headlight. At the end of the day, I can’t tell you how many people have said that they have “tried headlight restoration kits.”
Fast forward 20-something years later and this still bothers me. I drive for a living, mostly around North Jersey. I couldn’t help but notice how many vehicles on the road today have foggy headlights and how frustrated the driver must be driving at night, not being able to see farther out on the road. It really hurts my soul when I see a beautiful older, very well-maintained luxury vehicle that has ugly, foggy, oxidized headlights.
I started researching YouTube video after YouTube video and I bought a pair of junkyard headlights to practice on- shout out to Jen at the junkyard in East Hanover, NJ!
After lots of practice and doing countless headlights for free, I launched CXL Headlight Restoration! 5 years later, CXL Headlight Restoration has turned into one of the most reputable, sought-after headlight restoration businesses in NJ.
